1. In Israel

Open my lips to sing Your praise
My heart to feel the joy
Let me have the gift for which I'm yearning
Another night in Israel

Desert flowers blooming in the Spring
The grapes upon the vine
Let me walk the beaches in the moonlight
Let me fall in love in Israel

Wherever you go, I will go
Having to follow my heart
Riding the wings that will carry me home

Wherever you live, I will live
If just to breathe in the air
You'll find me in Israel

Lift up my eyes to see the day
Of plowshares from our swords
A time to mend, a time to gather stones
A time for peace in Israel

Let me hear the voice of bride and groom
Of laughter in the streets
Answer the prayers of our children
So they need not fear in Israel

I long to see the people
I want to share the dream
To reach across the distance
It's closer than it seems

Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall
Hamelech ya'aneynu
You answer on the day we call
V'yom koreynu

Close our eyes so we can see
Hamelech ya'aneynu
As certain as the air we breathe
V'yom koreynu

Hashem hoshia
V'yom koreynu

Ana Hashem hoshia na
Ana Hashem hatzlicha na

Oh Hashem, save; the King Who will answer us on the day we call. Please, Hashem, save now! Please, Hashem, bring success now!

3. Al Shlosha D'varim
Composed by Sam Glaser

www.samglaser.com

On three things stands the world, not on two
On three things, not on four, stands the world

Al shlosha d'varim
Ha'olam, ha'olam omed

On three things stands the world
On Torah and avodah
There must be one thing more
Acts of kindness everyday
Will insure the world won't sway

Al HaTorah, v'al ha'avodah
V'al g'milut chasadim

The world depends on three things on Torah study, on the service of G-d and on kind deeds.
–Pirkey Avot 1:2

4. Od Yishama
Composed by Sam Glaser

www.samglaser.com

Let it be heard in the towns of Judea
Let it be heard in Jerusalem
The sound of joy and of celebration
Our voices raised together

Od yishama b'arey Yehuda
Uv'chutzot Yerushalayim

As we dance in an endless circle
Touching hearts, holding hands
Sing a song heard by all the nations
Am Yisrael forever

Kol Sason v'kol simcha
Kol chatan v'kol kalah

May there still be heard in the cities of Judea and in the streets of Jerusalem, the sound of joy and the sound of celebration , the voice ot the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.

5. Baruch Hamakom
Composed by Sam Glaser

www.samglaser.com

It's the time of year to remember
As if we ourselves were there
Recreate the scene with our families
We unite in song and prayer

And a voice said
Put your faith in Me
Safely through the desert will I lead you
I will set you free
And every year on this sacred night you will say

Baruch HaMakom
Baruch Hu
Baruch shenatan Torah
L'amo Yisrael
Baruch Hu

Drink four cups of wine while we're leaning
And the afikoman we share
For this night to have any meaning
Children's questions must fill the air

Put your faith in Me
Safely through your lifetime will I lead you
I can set you free

And I will give you eyes to see how to walk upon the way
At the midnight hour you'll feel my outstretched arm
Right by your side so that you know
You are the precious child I long for everyday

Blessed is the Omnipresent, blessed is He, blessed is the One that gave the Torah to the people of Israel, blessed is He.

Master of the universe, Who reigned before any form was created, At the time when His will brought all into being, then as King was His Name proclaimed. Ater all has ceased to be, He, the Awesome One, will reign alone. It is He Who was, He Who is, and He Who shall remain, in splendor. He is One, there is no second to compare to Him, to declare as His equal. Without beginning, without conclusion, His is the power and dominion. He is my G-d, my living Redeemer, Rock of my pain in time of distress. He is my banner, a refuge for me, the portion in my cup on the day I call. Into His hand I shall entrust my spirit when I go to sleep and I shall awaken. With my spirit shall my body remain. Hashem is with me, I shall not fear.

If I am not for myself, who will be for me? And if I am for myself, what am I? And if not now, when? –Pirkey Avot 1:14
Love peace, pursue peace, love people and bring them closer to Torah.

8. Mikolot
Composed by Sam Glaser

www.samglaser.com

Mikolot mayim rabim
Adirim mishb'rey yam
Stronger than the mountains, high as the sky
Like a rock You stand throughout time

Let us stand up tall with our heads held high
As You keep the rising waters at bay
Set a steady course through the winds of life
May we see the light in our day

More than waves that crash in the sea
Fast as rivers racing through the land

Nas'u n'harot Hashem, nas'u n'harot kolam
Yisu n'harot dachyam

More than the roars of many waters, mightier than the waves of the sea. Like rivers they raised, Oh Hashem, like rivers they raised their voice.

10. Eyes Are Open
Music by Sam Glaser, Lyrics by Neshama Carlebach and Sam Glaser

www.samglaser.com

I got up early so I could taste the day
The air was sweet, the sky so bright, no room for pain
It is clear that I am free to walk with You
Just outside I found a world where everything's new

My eyes are open, (Hit'or'ri, hitor'ri)
Don't let me go back to sleep
Eyes are open, (Ki va oreych kumi ori)
Lift my heart so I can see
My eyes are open, (Uri uri shir dabeyri)
I am in Your hands

I took a journey through my day to day
A place I'd never been a thousand times before
It is clear that I am home within Your arms
Stand by me as I reach for the highest star

And I know you have plans for me
I know I'm not forgotten
No matter what may come, I will go on

Eyes are open, (Uri uri shir dabeyri)
With each new day Your song I sing
Eyes are open, (K'vod Hashem alayich nigla)
I am in Your hands

Wake up! Wake up! For your light has come, rise up and shine; Awaken, awaken, utter a song; The glory of Hashem is revealed on you.
–Rabbi Shlomo Halevi Alkabetz

11. Love to Understand
Composed by Sam Glaser and Julie Silver
©2002 Glaser Musicworks
www.samglaser.com

What is this sweetness, completeness, or am I dreaming
Are we together or are we apart
For just a moment's sensation, a celebration
But I open up my eyes

Stand here in my shoes, I'll walk right beside you
Now that we're face to face
We see love and understanding
I'd love to understand

So we are scattered
What matters is everything in between
You know it's love that moves us along
Must we be rivals, survival we can achieve
If you open up your heart

Stand here I need you, I think you need me too
So why do we argue
We need love and understanding
I'd love to understand

Stand here in my shoes
See my point of view
And somehow we'll break through
I choose love and understanding
Love to understand

Kad'sheynu b'mitzvotecha, v'teyn chelkeynu b'toratecha
Sab'eynu mituvecha, v'sam'cheynu biyshu'atecha

V'taheyr libeynu l'avdecha be'emet
V'hanchileynu Hashem Elokeynu
B'ahava uvratzon Shabat Kodshecha

Oh the joy we feel each seventh day
Unites the generations
Brings us closer, keeps us holy
Thank You for this taste of paradise

When we rest and relax, the burden off our backs
We remember the reason we're alive

Santify us with Your commandments and grant us a share in Your Torah; satisfy us from Your goodness and gladden us with Your salvation, and purify our heart to serve You sincerely. Oh Hashem, our G-d, with love and favor grant us Your holy Sabbath as a heritage.

13. Halelu

Hal'lu hal'lu hal'luhu, hal'lu haleluhu

Hal'lu Keyl b'kadsho, hal'luhu birkiya uzo
Hal'luhu bigvurotav, hal'luhu k'rov gudlo

Hal'luhu b'teyka shofar, hal'luhu b'neyvel v'chinor
Hal'luhu b'tof umachol, hal'luhu b'minim v'ugav

Kol haneshama t'halelka, Haleluka

Halleluya! Praise G-d in His Sanctuary; praise Him in the firmament of His power. Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him as befits His abundant greatness. Praise Him with the blast of the shofar; praise Him with lyre and harp. (Praise Him with clanging cymbals; praise Him with resonant trumpets.) Let all souls praise G-d, Halleluya!

14. Hiney Ma Tov
Composed by Sam Glaser

www.samglaser.com

Walking together down this winding road
Looking back to see how far we've gone
It's the most amazing view
To think somehow we made it through
And managed still to keep the power on

Working together on our future
Knowing we stand on common ground
We're only going to hear the call
When it's all for one and one for all
When we spread a little kindness all around

Hiney ma tov uma na'im
Shevet achim gam yachad

Now is the time for building bridges
Founded on tolerance and love
Let our generation be
The light that every nation sees
United by our trust in G-d above

Imagine the magical sound
As we sang with one voice
Stronger and stronger
We never will wander alone

How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony.
–T'hilim (Psalms) 133

15. Rain Dance
Composed by Sam Glaser
©2002 Glaser Musicworks
www.samglaser.com

Remember Avraham
Who crossed the river wide
Knowing he would find You
Waiting on the other side

And then remember Yitzchak
Who's conception was complete
As soon as his father
Washed the traveler's feet

Sha'ata hu Hashem Elokaynu
Mashiv haruach umorid hagashem
Sha'ata hu Hashem Elokaynu

Remember Yaakov
Who kissed his sweet Rachel
As soon as he was able
To roll the boulder off the well

And then remember Moshe
Who from a basket on the water
Saw his salvation
In the arm of Pharoh's daughter

Livracha v'lo liklala
L'chaim v'lo l'mavet
L'sovah v'lo l'razon

For You are Hashem, our G-d, Who makes the wind blow and the rain descend. For blessing and not for curse, for life and not for death, for plenty and not for scarcity.
