Good morning to the world
Thank you for this day
Thank you for the gift of life
You always send my way
What am I going to sing
What am I going to do
To show how much
I feel for you
Modeh ani l'fanecha
Melech chai v'kayam
Shehechezarta bi nishmati
B'chemlah rabah emunatecha
Thank you for the sun
Thank you for the moon
Thank you for the words that fit
So nicely in this tune
Before I wash my face
Before I brush my hair
I recognize
You're everywhere
Modeh ani l'fanecha
Melech chai v'kayam
Shehechezarta bi nishmati
B'chemlah rabah emunatecha

Spreading the feeling all over the earth
Waiting for the day
When brothers can walk hand in hand
And no one feels afraid
With all of our hearts we call to You
Knowing You hear somehow
Like never before
We need You here right now
Oseh shalom bimromav
Hu ya'aseh shalom aleynu
V'al kol Yisrael, Yisrael
V'im'ru amen
Turn to the people who share your life
Let your love shine through
Make sure to mention from time to time
How much they mean to you
We're holding the future in our hands
We can be the light
If only we'd stand as one
It could be so bright
Oseh shalom bimromav
Hu ya'aseh shalom aleynu
V'al kol Yisrael, Yisrael
V'im'ru amen
Shalom rav al Yisrael

How did I ever find my way back home
What did I do to deserve this prize
Searching the world to find the secrets
That were hiding right before my eyes
It isn't in the heavens
It's not over the sea
The answer's soundly sleeping in my heart
Is there a home for me in history
Is there a purpose to my wanderings
When will I realize the reason I was cast inside this destiny
It isn't in the heavens
It's not over the sea
You and I were never far apart
Lo bashamayim
Lo mey'eyver layam
Ki karov elecha hadavar me'od
And who am I that You should recognize
My tiny life against infinity
And still I close my eyes and pray with all my heart
That You'll watch over me
Wouldn't it be comforting
While traveling the years
To feel Your presence by my side
Through the laughter and the tears
It isn't in the heavens
It's not over the sea
Take this opportunity to start

Composed by Sam Glaser

It's been a long time since I've said I love you
It's been a while since I've said anything at all
Captive in a fortress of my choosing
It's time that I tore down the wall
Lift my eyes to see the light within the darkness
Lift my spirit to appreciate Your hand
Lift my eyes to see the answers to the questions
I don't understand
It's been a long time since I've kept a promise
It's been a while since I have had a single goal
All my dreams are being held for ransom
Cause I cannot find the self-control
Lift my eyes to see the truth for the illusion
Lift my heart to see the good inside the pain
Lift my eyes to see the reason for Your wishes
That I can't explain
Lift my eyes to see the light within the darkness
Lift my spirit to appreciate Your hand
Lift my eyes to see the answers to the questions
I don't understand

Composed by Sam Glaser

G-d only knows if I'll ever get my fill
I keep comin' back for more
Just the other night when every body was asleep
I was goin' till a quarter to four
I can't get enough
I've been working on my attitude
This is heavy stuff, but I'm ready
'Cause I'm a learnin', a learnin' machine
A pasuk of the Torah or three blots of Gemarah
You can have it your own way
Singin' out Tehillim while layin' your tefillin
It's guaranteed to make your day
Try the trope of the Megillah or the nusach of
t'fillah
You will never know it all
Till you're ready for Kabbalah you can learn to make Havdalah
All gedolim started out small
I can't get enough
My chevrusa is turnin' blue
This is heavy stuff, but I'm ready
'Cause I'm a learnin', a learnin' machine
I've got to find a rebbe for to poskin a shyla
or two
It's not so much a matter of knowin' all the answers
When it's kashas that mekavod you
If you're machmir or you're makel
And you know a kosher steak'll be the only thing to satisfy
You know I hate to lecture but you better check the hechsher
And shehakol before you bite
I can't get enough
And soon I'll be m'karving you
This is heavy stuff, but I'm ready

My G-d
Creator of all life
How can I hope to understand your ways
My G-d
Master of the world
Open up my lips to sing your praise
Shelter me
Protect me from myself
Help me choose a pathway that you favor
Take my hand
Wrap me in your love
Kah ribon olam v'almaya
Ant hu malkah melech malchaya
My G-d
King of kings
Can I ever be worthy in your eyes
My G-d
Designer of all things
Who made me so that I would realize
Everyday
Every single breath
Is mine because you want me to be breathing
Take my words, make of them a prayer
Kah ribon olam v'almaya
Ant hu malkah melech malchaya
Ovad G'vurtaych v'timhayah
Sh'far kadamach l'hachavayah
12.A Day in the Life
Composed by Sam Glaser

www.samglaser.com
Awake, arise
Livin' a day in the life
React, review
Remind us why we're alive
One more chance
To understand your Name
One more day
To contemplate your beautiful design
We laugh, we cry
We're livin' a day in the life
Repair, renew
Return to paradise
One more chance
To make somebody smile
One more day
To celebrate the precious gift of time
Another day to reach for You
To lift our hearts with song
Another day to say the words
That keep our people strong
Awake, arise
Livin' a day in the life
React, review
We slowly open our eyes
One more chance to try to rise above
One more song to thank You for your love
One more day
Closer to when I come home to You
Another day to reach for You...
13.Born to Remember

Dreams
What are these dreams
Why are these images returning every night
Who is breathing life
Into these photographs of fading black and white
Out of the depths
Of a darkness we can never hope to understand
Somehow the voices still sing
"We survive"
We were born to remember
Born to remember our families
Born to remember
Cause all we have left are the memories
A lesson learned not very long ago
From generations we will never know
We tell their story to the world today
A world silent as they passed away
Mama, hold me close
Please tell me everything my bubby used to say
How did she go on
As she watched them take her family away
Out of the depths
With a strength that we can never hope to understand
Somehow she fought for every breath
To keep the flame alive
We were born to remember
Born to remember our families
Born to remember
Or no one will speak of their legacy
A lesson learned not very long ago
From generations we will never know
To tell their story to the world today
A world silent as they passed away
I've been hoping for a rainbow
Some eternal sign
That hate and fear
Will disappear forevermore
Born to remember how relentlessly
They disassembled each community
Packed all our precious ones in cattle cars
Sent on a one way trip into the stars
Born to remember how their bodies froze
While marching barefoot through the winter snows
Becoming numb to hungry children's cries
Catching our final glimpse of butterflies
Dreams
We are their dreams
We are the future that their children were denied
Will we be their voice
If we remember then they never really die
