FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
ANNOUNCING SAM GLASER’S
Power of the Soul 2019 WORLD TOUR
Sam Glaser is at it again. Known for his unshakable work ethic, Glaser will be hitting the road for the Sam Glaser Power of the Soul, a multi-continental event that will visit over fifty cities .
During the Power of the Soul Tour, Glaser will be performing in concerts, leading weekend programs and acting as scholar/musician-in-residence. He will be featured in three concert formats: intimate solo performances at the grand piano, concerts with the Sam Glaser band and spectaculars with a full orchestra. This past season’s tour included jaunts to the UK, Israel, Australia, Mexico and Canada and 2019 will feature shows in London, Cartagena and Jerusalem. Sam will be combining hits from his new Power of the Soul album with the much-beloved songs from his catalog that have become standards in Jewish communities worldwide.
Stages is a 32 song, double tribute album of the best of Glaser’s music performed by America’s favorite Jewish artists. Published by Behrman House, the largest provider of teaching materials for religious and day schools, this collection highlights Sam’s vast repertoire of uplifting, spiritual music composed during his 25 year career traveling the globe in concert.
The Promise album is an inspired musical celebration of the Land of Israel. It explores the Jewish love affair with the Promised Land through the biblical period, two millennia of exile, and the past sixty miraculous years of aliyah (return.) Two years in the making, The Promise is Glaser’s 24th CD release and represents the apex of his songwriting and production talents. It features his top-notch band of Los Angeles-based musicians, gifted guest vocalists and a children’s choir. Songs such as “Dancing in Jerusalem,” “The Promise” and “Mezuzah” have inspired videos that have hit upwards of a quarter million YouTube views and the closing track is Sam’s powerful electronica interpretation of the Israeli national anthem “Hatikvah.”
Towards the Dawn/Edge of Life Vol. 2 reunites Sam Glaser with concert pianist Sha-Rone Kushnir in an improvised-cum-classical format. These moving renditions of Sam’s most spiritual ballads are supplemented with virtuoso violinist Leah Zeger and Mike McGuffey on trumpet and flugelhorn. With over seventy minutes of audiophile Jewish music, Towards the Dawn is a profound sonic journey of the mind and spirit.
Considered one of the top ten Jewish artists in the US by Moment Magazine, Glaser performs for a wide array of audiences; his devoted fans range from those in the Reform and Conservative movements to the Modern Orthodox and Chassidim. While he frequently appears in synagogues and Jewish community centers, he also leads Stand With Israel concerts in churches of various denominations nationwide. Sam has performed at such venues as the Staples Center, the Greek Theatre, Gibson Amphitheatre, Dodger Stadium, on Broadway and at the White House.
Glaser has long been a fixture on the Los Angeles music scene. He has served as the executive director of the Jewish Music Commission, producer of the American Jewish Song Festival, music coordinator for the American Jewish University and musical director of the Brandeis-Bardin Collegiate Institute. In addition to his work in the Jewish realm, Glaser has released two Parents’ Choice Award-winning children’s albums, composed six musicals and has published multiple volumes of lyrics and poetry. Sam is a sought after record producer, having produced full-length albums in a variety of genres for over eighty bands and singers in his recording studio, Glaser Musicworks. Sam has served as in-house composer for the WB Network and SportsChannel and scored for the FOX, PBS and ESPN networks. Most importantly, he devotes himself to his wife and three amazing kids.
