North American Possible You leader Sam Glaser is a renown educator, performer, composer and record producer. His soulful music has become part of the fabric of Jewish life in communities worldwide. He performs and teaches in an average of fifty cities a year and his energetic style and passionate delivery never fails ignite the spirit of audiences of all ages. Named one of the top ten Jewish artists in the US by Moment magazine, Glaser has traveled the world over in concert, from Sydney to London to Hong Kong to Tel Aviv.
Sam is a popular teacher of Jewish topics and is frequently called upon to serve as scholar-in-residence and keynote speaker. His most popular programs are Shabbatons where he leads spirited weekends serving as cantor and offering words of Torah. His weekly Seasons of Joy class is enjoyed both by Jews by birth and Jews by Choice and satisfies the requirements for conversion set by the Los Angeles Beit Din. For six years he served as music director of Continuing Education at American Jewish University. Sam loves working with young people and he frequents religious school retreats, NFTY, USY and NCSY events, Jewlicious weekends and collegiate Hillel Houses. He has also served as a beloved and enthusiastic music teacher at Harkham Hillel Hebrew Academy, Sinai Akiba Academy, Shalhevet and Yeshiva of Los Angeles Sam attended Berkelee College of Music and the UCLA Film Scoring program, and received his BS in Business from the University of Colorado.
Sam’s best-selling Jewish CDs include The Promise, The Songs We Sing, Hallel, Nigun/Voice of the Soul, Presence, The Bridge, A Day in the Life and the award-winning children's musical Kol Bamidbar. He was one of the first artists signed by Sony/JMG Records, a label dedicated to promoting Jewish music. Sam’s children’s CD Soap Soup won such awards as the John Lennon Songwriting Competition, Parents Choice and the National Association of Parenting Publications. In addition to the twenty-four albums of his own compositions he has published four collections of lyrics and poetry, four musicals, three sheet music songbooks of his Jewish music and an SATB choral book. In his cutting-edge recording studio, Glaser Musicworks, he produces albums for a wide variety of recording artists and music for such networks as the WB, ESPN and PBS.
Sam's younger brother, The Possible You founder Rabbi Yom Tov Glaser is a popular rabbi, singer, counselor and author living in Jerusalem. A lover of music, Rabbi Glaser has been playing Music professionally for over two decades. In England, he’s known as the Jewish Bob Marley!
While Rabbi Glaser spent the much of his youth surfing he accumulated vast insights into human character, religion and alternative spirituality. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California in Santa Barbara, he moved to Israel in 1991 to explore his Jewish origins studying at the Aish HaTorah College of Jewish Studies. After six years of intense study, Rabbi Glaser received ordination.
Today, Rabbi Yom Tov prays in Meah Shearim in the Pinsk Karlin shul, where every word of the service is screamed at the top of one's lungs. He is a student of a Chasidic Rebbe who is a spiritual dynamo on the cutting edge of kabbalistic research and practice. Rabbi Yom Tov is the Rebbe’s main disciple, and can be found sitting at the Rebbe’s table, soaking in his teachings, often into the wee hours of the night. Rabbi Glaser has also trained under a top Russian psychologist and now practices spiritual therapy, helping both individuals as well as groups to come closer to the G-d experience.
Rabbi Glaser resides in Jerusalem with his wife Leah and eight children. He leads the Possile You, studies, teaches, plays music and travels internationally sharing his own brand of transformational education.
